POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Client is seeking a talented, highly motivated analytical pharmacologist to join the Bioanalytical Sciences group. The successful applicant will become part of cross-functional teams in support of Client's therapeutics.

• The successful candidate will manage and provide technical leadership for a
growing bioanalytical team.
• This individual will serve as the principal liaison to several
product-focused teams, which are comprised of individuals with backgrounds in
microbiology, genetic engineering, and fermentation process development.
• This candidate will be responsible for proactively implementing plans to
ensure that bioanalytical resources and capabilities meet the needs of the
project teams.
• The activities of the bioanalytical group, in conjunction with project teams,
will help define fundamental mechanisms that regulate the production of
specific microbial metabolites.
• This candidate will configure biochemical and bioanalytical assays to enable
high-throughput quantification of metabolites from complex fermentation
samples.
• These assays will require the ability to develop methods for the robust
detection of both intra- and extra-cellular metabolites.
• A critical responsibility of the successful candidate will be to effectively
communicate and make recommendations both with fellow team members, internal
management and external partners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ph.D. with 2+ years of relevant experience is required; industrial experience
is a plus.
• This position requires working knowledge of various methods for the physical
characterization of small molecules, including HPLC and mass spectrometry.
• The ideal candidate will have biochemical experience in the context of
microbial metabolic engineering projects.
• The candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to
exercise independent judgment.
