Bioanalytical Scientists for Biomarkers,
Discovery, Northeast Pharmaceutical Company, Position 439
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The
qualified candidate will operate within the DMPK group in a Discovery project team setting and provide
Biomarker Bioanalytical support for several therapeutic areas (CNS-Central
Nervous System, CVMED-cardiovascular, Metabolic and Endocrine Disorders, and
Antibacterials).
RESPONSIBILITES:
·
Quantitative analysis of peptides and small molecules identified as
novel biomarkers
·
Development, characterization, & implementation of appropriate
extraction and purification techniques (e.g., protein precipitation,
liquid-liquid extraction and SPE)
·
Implementation and validation of LC/MS, LC/MS/MS, and/or
immunoanalytical methodology
·
Routine use of HPLC equipment, triple quadrupole MS/MS technology,
liquid handling systems, immunoanalytical platforms, and Watson LIMS are
required
·
Biological sample handling and preparation and laboratory automation
·
Independent planning of laboratory activities
·
Understand and influence therapeutic area biomarker strategies to use
biomarkers in scientific decision-making
·
Publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals
·
External and internal presentations
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
·
Bachelor (>10 years), Master (>6 years), or Doctorate
Degree (>4 years) in relevant scientific field with industrial experience
·
Significant experience in development, characterization, and
implementation of quantitative analytical assays (mass spectrometry &
immunoanalytical) using wet chemical sample preparation methods and
instrumentation
·
Experience working in a matrix scientific discipline and team
·
Significant experience leading a scientific team, working through
others, technical leadership and innovation, and mentoring
·
Experience developing partnerships in a matrix environment, influencing
project strategies, and leadership in technology development and implementation
·
Candidate must have experience training and developing analytical
scientists in a team environment.
DESIRABLE:
·
Experience in pharmaceutical ADME disciplines and science, primarily
bioanalytical
·
Candidate should have good oral and written communication skills, and
be able to present data/results in a multidisciplinary and matrix team
environment
·
Well organized, self-motivated, detail oriented, and the ability to
work in a team environment
Position
includes leadership in all phases of bioanalytical laboratory operations
including technology evaluations, the development of sample preparation,
separation and detection methods, data analysis, interpretation, reporting and
follow up discussions with the project teams on utilizing the data in
appropriate decision making.
