Job Responsibilities:
The Bioanalytical Scientist in Global Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics will be required to develop, validate and run methods for the quantitation of drugs and metabolites in biological fluids and tissues using manual and automated extraction techniques and LC-MS/MS or capillary electrophoresis. The Scientist should be able to perform routine procedures for sample extraction, instrument operation and calculation of results with moderate supervision. Quantitation of standard curves and raw data will be performed in a laboratory information management system (Watson LIMS). All activities will be conducted according to appropriate SOPs and GLP guidelines and in adherence to appropriate chemical and biological safety practices, including the documentation of laboratory activities and maintenance of study records and files to enable error-free interpretation of data and good outcomes during QA/FDA inspection.
Job Qualifications:
A BS or MS degree in analytical chemistry or a related discipline is required. One to five years of experience in quantitative analysis of drugs and metabolites using biological sample extraction techniques and LC-MS/MS in a GLP environment in the pharmaceutical or contract research industry is required. The applicant should work well within a team environment, wherein sharing of equipment and other resources is required. Good written and verbal communication skills and problem solving skills are desired. Knowledge of routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting and knowledge of chromatographic separation are also advantageous.
