SENIOR SPECTROSCOPIST for MASS SPECTROMETRY

The School of Chemical Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is seeking applicants for Senior Spectroscopist in its Mass Spectrometry Laboratory. This facility primarily supports research mainly in the Department of Chemistry and a range of biochemically-oriented departments. This full-time academic professional position requires a broad range of professional and technical skills. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or related field, with specialization in mass spectrometry, or the equivalent in experience in mass spectrometry.

 

The successful applicant will be a hands-on spectrometrist but also responsible for the supervision of support staff, as well as a liaison with faculty and staff. The laboratory contains the following instruments:  VG 70SE-4F, Micromass 70-VSE spectrometers (3), Micromass Quattro, Micromass Q-ToF Ultima, Applied Biosystems Voyager DE-STR, and ThermoFinnigan LCQ Deca XP.

 

Salary is commensurate with qualifications. Proposed starting date is as soon as possible after closing date.
